ABT announced promotions today. Great to hear that Stella Abrera was promoted to Principal Dancer along with Misty Copeland. In addition, ABT announced that Maria Kochetkova and Alban Lendorf will join the company as Principal Dancers. The two will remain as Principal Dancers in their current companies, San Francisco Ballet and Royal Danish Ballet, respectively.

Also good news as the Soloist ranks were strengthened with the promotions of Skylar Brandt, Thomas Forster, Luciana Paris, Arron Scott, and CassandraTrenary. In addition, Boston Ballet Principal Dancer Jeffrey Cirio will join ABT as a Soloist. I don’t know much about him, but his background is impressive; he won a Gold Medal at the Youth America Grand Prix in 2005, a Princess Grace Fellowship, and a Gold Medal at the Helsinki International Ballet Competition in 2009.
