CBS This Morning ran a piece on David Hallberg, documenting his struggle with injuries and his return to the stage. Obviously, I liked 6:16, which showed a photo I took of David in his emotional ABT return performance on May 27, 2017.
The highlight of the ABT Met season season will be Friday, when David performs with Natalia Osipova in Giselle. Tickets are expensive and limited, with only about 100 remaining with a minimum price of $125 in the balcony with orchestra seats ranging from $200-$250. Everyone is holding their breath as David was injured at the start of the first act in The Royal Ballet’s Giselle with Natalia in March. He made it through the Act I, but had to bow out in Act II, replaced by Matthew Ball. He was not able to perform in his second scheduled performance with the company.
Check in to Balletfocus.com late Friday/early Saturday for a report on the performance.
Thanks to Suzanne Gerhold on Twitter for pointing out the CBS report.
