Balancing Pointe Podcasts
Check out Balancing Pointe, an informative new website that features interviews with leading dancers. The site is run by Kimberly and Marge, mothers of two aspiring ballerinas. In the past month, they have put together 30-60 minute interview podcasts with an impressive group including New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Megan Fairchild, San Francisco Ballet Principal Dancer Tiit Helimets, Joffrey Ballet dancer Dylan Gutierrez, Ballet West Soloist and cast member of CW’s reality series Breaking Pointe Allison DeBona, and former ABT dancer and photographer Renata Pavam. The interviews provide insight on what drives the dancers and advice for aspiring dancers.
Isabella Boylston Interview
Andrew Blackmore-Dobbyn interviews ABT Soloist Isabella Boylston about her Nutcracker performances with the Royal Danish Ballet. As part of the company’s new Dancer Exchange Program, Isabella is performing in Copenhagen where she will dance the roles of Dewdrop and Sugarplum. After Nutcracker: “…I have some time off and I will start working on some upcoming projects made possible by the Annenberg Foundation grant that I received this year. I have a project coming up with Justin Peck and James Whiteside and a new creation with the Swedish choreographer Pontus Lidberg. I’ll also start learning Giselle for the first time with ABT and getting ready for our upcoming tours.”
