Christine Shevchenko in A Night at the Ballet

Above photo: Christine Shevchenko and Cory Stearns, Le Corsaire, June 10, 2017 Great news as American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancer will produce in “A Night at the Ballet” streamed from December 17-20. The production is put on by Live Arts Global, a company formed by Christine, former ABT dancer Melanie Hamrick, and choreographer and contemporary artist Joanna DeFelice. According to the Live Arts Global website, “…these women are creating a new platform to view dance at no cost. The goal is to bring classical ballet to our beloved audiences while bringing in new fans.” The organization is taking donations and proceeds will go directly to the artists performing and producing the show. A Night at the Ballet will be a 60 minute streamed performance featuring dancers from ABT, New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey, and San Francisco Ballet performing excerpts from Don Quixote, The Nutcracker and more. From Christine’s Instagram feed, she will dance the Don Quixote Pas de Deux with San Francisco Ballet’s Julian MacKay. Check out the Live Arts Global website linked above for more details.
