Big Apple Circus is Back!
Great news as The Big Apple Circus may return to performing this holiday season according to The Wall Street Journal. The organization has been in bankruptcy since November and Compass Partners LLC purchased the assets in a bankruptcy proceeding. My family has attended many performances of the Big Apple Circus over the years and we were sad to hear the cancellation of the 2016 season due to financial distress. Here are my reviews from previous years: 2015, 2014, and 2013.
From the article: “The intent is definitely to have the show in New York for the 2017 holiday season,” said Alison Bauer, a lawyer for the Sarasota, Fla.-based investment firm. “We look forward to hearing more about the results of the Big Apple Circus’ reorganization efforts,” Lincoln Center spokeswoman Mary Caraccioli said in an email, saying the organization has been a “longtime admirer” of the circus and its community programs.
