ABT Soloist Sascha Radetsky announced Friday on Twitter that he will leave ABT after the Met season: “First rehearsal today for my last show with @ABTBallet, on July 3rd in Coppelia, with the lovely Xiomara Reyes”
Sorry to see Sascha go. I really enjoyed him in Clear in the fall ABT season along with his portrayals over the years of Lankendem and Birbanto in Le Corsaire, Espada and the lead gypsy in Don Quixote, Tybalt and Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet, and particularly the Champion Roper in Rodeo. Sascha joined ABT in 1995. He was appointed a Principal Dancer for Dutch National Ballet in 2008 and returned to ABT a few years later.
In addition to his final performance on July 3, the ABT website says that he will perform in Manon on June 4 and 6. In 2015, he will appear in the ballet drama Flesh and Bone on the Starz network.
